Brief Summary of What Can Come for the LGBT Under Trump Adminstration

With the upcoming Trump administration we have to remember that with the first time he was in the White House he executed an effort to erase protections for LGBTQ people, within the Trump administration included an effort to define transgender out of existence and erode protections for transgender students and workers by weakening gender-affirming health care that most transgender had difficulty accessing them.

During Biden's administration a lot of the Trump's-era laws were reversed, but Trump vowed to dismantle Biden's policies that offer protection for transgender students under Title IX, a federal civil right law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. In the late 1990's and early 2000's Trump expressed support for domestic partnership laws - a position that the GOP opposed at the time, he even showed personal tolerance for LGBTQ issues such as queer people serving in the military; but  his views shifted around 2011 where amid a possible presidential bid, he mentioned he was opposed to gay marriage and in 2015 he mentioned he supported traditional marriage.

Trump became the first GOP presidential nominee to mention LGBTQ issues in his 2016 Republican National Convention speech, where he pledged to protect the community in the aftermath of the Pulse nightclub shooting, albeit the juxtaposition came with his election of vice-president with Mike Pence who had opposed marriage equality.

With his 2016 campaign Trump said that he would strongly consider appointing Supreme Court Justices who would overturn the 2015 ruling that legalized marriage equality, but his perspective have never been precise as he changed his point of views to adjust to what the situation need it. His comments on transgender issues, Trump said over the North Carolina bathroom ban, that transgender people "Should use the bathroom they feel appropriate" But his administration went to reverse a policy that allowed transgender students to use bathrooms that corresponded with gender identity plus his administration banned some transgender people from serving in the military while Trump was in office.

Trump even mentioned if he goes back to the White House, he will impose punishment for doctors and teachers who discuss gender affirming care with minors, which the sentiment reflected on his 2024 campaign.

The LGTBQ Victories of Obama for his Second Term - The DOMA Wall

Glaad Image
Tampa, Fl -- It won't be the end of the world, it will be the beginning of fair treatment to the entire population but with every small victory and even if at the DOMA is completely overturned there are still paradigms to break down in the most closed-minded sectors of the population that still see any advance of social rights as a corrupted form of socialism because they don't know the correct definition and see every help, every advance to the population as a form of selling the country.

The main victory of Obama on a long term in terms of social progress will be the repeal of the DOMA which was signed by a Bill Clinton on 1996, showing that even if two people are from the same party they can have a juxtaposition on their beliefs about civil rights but slowly Obama has taken steps into overthrown one of the biggest mistakes that was vetoed by a fellow Democrat.

If it wasn't for DOMA there could be a federal victory regarding the recognition of benefits to spouses, one of those examples that could be turned into a memory are the recognition of benefits for the armed forced spouses who are not entitled because of DOMA on the benefits of their better halves but at the end the overturn of DOMA will be in the hands of the Supreme Court but in the meantime Obama can continue his work in landing benefits to all soldiers equally but the situation can turn complex for the President as the legislative body is composed by the opposition but if he aims towards a congressional law then his odds can turn for better as well the lives of many people.

Employment Non-Discrimination Act can be an issue and one of the failed attempts on the Romney campaign when the former candidate offered jobs to all Americans but the speech of Romney was only half way truth to the reality that many red States such as Florida are oriented regarding discrimination based on sexual orientation and is a common practice to fire someone for being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and the person who gets fired in question have little to no protection to claim back because of the States laws regarding discrimination. That could be one more crucial victories if it's achieved on a Federal Level as it can grant protection to many individuals who feel threaten by their employers because of any biased speech any employee can give against their persona. Is not fair that even 30% of the States offer some protection, people are still getting discriminated against their personas.

Overall there has to be a reform to the immigration laws, that probably could strike as one of the biggest achievements of the Obama administration if DOMA is overturn, yet so far had been a few winning cases of bi-national couples and it could be a major victory because families beyond the hetero-normative standard can improve the economy when the nucleus is kept together and they are offered protection from the government. If Obama can realize that beyond who the person is, what color of his skin, religion, gender identity, ethnicity, if he achieves a general protection and defends the constitution even further then he will be remembered as one of the greatest civil leaders and the first President of the United States who stood for the LGTBQ community.

Uncle Bobby's Wedding - Controversy over Nature over Media Exposition and Parental Problematic about Child Sexuality

Tampa, Fl -- As it was stated on KMOV-4 (Mo-Station), there was a controversy and an exposition how the public system it is weak regarding the demands of one single father to pull out of the shelves a book named Uncle Bobby's Wedding which tell the story about a guinea pig marrying his partner. The public library system in the United States as well the public system in general should cease the demands of narrow minded bigots as this country was founded on laic principles and not emulating the utopic concept of a Christian nation.

Uncle Bobby's Wedding is a book written by author Sarah S. Brannen and as many books who deal with children with families that don't fit in the heteronormative such as Jenny lives with Eric and Martin, Heather has Two Mommies, Daddy's Roommate, King and King and others had attracted controversy over the last two decades as challenged books as they don't fit in public libraries but 1% of the people shouldn't discriminate against the other 99% because reality is far more complex than a children's book.

The challenged book has been in the public libraries since 2008 and in the suburbs of Brentwood it seems the controversy sparked recently because one father didn't liked the book and is in legal process of removing the book from the shelves making the library council board to decide if the book will be removed permanently on November the 12th. The problem it's that communities are getting enclosed on an ideological level and rejecting the different realities that goes beyond their cul-de-sac's or in other words if you don't fit with what the common majority where you live then you can not fit because you are different.

Probably we as a nation we have become political correct and everything that offends us on a personal level has to be vanquished; but also parents are fearful on not what their children will become but on what they will be able to defy the norms they have settled as well to live their lives on their own terms, some parents fear but on a certain level they embrace discrimination and they don't believe anything else that is real if it don't fit with the imagery that they grew, a book or television show is not going to turn a child into a lesbian or a gay man; a song is not going a child to embrace another gender, a paint is not going to pervert the mind of a child, you are who you are but it is the society the one who will try to meddle inside your life and tell the feelings you have are wrong.

Parents should know that support is the best key in a child development and not negating any of the child's curiosity regards the world because under the negative influences the child could develop dependencies on narcotics or anything worse. I hope Uncle Bobby's book don't get banned from the library because it will a shame as the system it's demonstrating to not protect the people's intellectual material in order to avoid some liability lawsuits. There is also one fantastic book The Complete Lesbian & Gay Parenting Guide By Lev, Arlene Istar (Google Affiliate Ad) which gives a really good detail about parenting in a same sex household.
