I Used to Fucking Love Science

11/19/2015 (Tampa, Fl) --- There was a time when charlatans as Food Babe, The Health Ranger, Avocado Wolfe, Dr. Tenpenny just to name a few of a long list appeared on the public scenario.

The reason on their surge goes on the easy access of social media, charismatic people could spread their message with ease than ever through the use of click and bait entries as well the use of motivational macro-images to attract people on their blogs or sites.

David Wolfe and the Food Babe could be one of the best examples; their message based on misinformation as well an appeal to a magical realism and towards a negative speech about science as a whole.

I Fucking Love Science seemed three years ago, as the best reply against the quackery that was being spread around; the "child"of writer Elise Andrew that attracted several thousands of people on the first year, mostly because it was a breath of fresh air; aiming science to the pop masses. Suddenly it spread a lot of plagiarism, click and bait, accusations of stealing as well misinformation on how the different science branches work.

Their main delinquent behavior is lack of citations towards where they take their articles, how they express and edit the entries up to the point they say nothing interesting; how they attribute material too, how they censor anyone who questions them. It's difficult to think of any positive aspects when the attribute creator Elise Andrew has manipulated everyone person involved for her own benefit.

As not only the lack of ethics, but also on how they communicate the information to their viewers. When you are in the media and you fail to provide a consistent point of view, you will be committing the same sin as Fox News tergiversation of truth.

The best case of I Fucking Love Science goes to the mini-age they predict and later had to retract on their claims; albeit, they didn't erased the entry as is still available for the viewers to see as if is just adding transparency.

What Elise Andrew created is not very different from the Nutribullet David Wolfe sponsors, both products claim a certain veracity, but at the end they are just subject of a marketing strategy in order to sell more rather than to function properly.

It's not only that entry, almost any entry reflects a pedantic perspective that the page is done in order to gather clicks or views; there is no real purpose as there is no information that is relevant or interesting. Those are the reasons on why I used to loved I Fucking Love Science.
